Today I would like to talk to you about anxiety. In many scientific sources it is spoken about Anxiety Disorders as of a Generalized Anxiety Disorders. In the Spanish Dictionary María Moliner, anxiety defines it as: "from Latin, Anxietas 1. State of anxiety 2. Concern and impatience for something that is to happen.
It has also a similar significance to the word
anguish, and it is "specifically used in medicine". Furthermore, if
we ongoing glimpsing at the word anxiety, the dictionary also tells us the
following: " Very intense physical discomfort that does not consist
"in any determined pain and is manifested mainly by wistful
breathing". There are other meanings at the dictionaries, but these are
the ones that has a particularly significance to us to continue with our
article.
In psychology, this mental discomfort is manifested from a series of
symptoms or warning signs such as the frequent presence of concerns that seem
to drift from one problem to another. These kinds of problems can involve
family, interpersonal relationships, work, money or health, in the same way we
may glide in to our own desires, dreams to be realized, needs… etc.
Other warning signs we may experienced could be hassle in focused, clued-up with fatigue, irritability, or troubling falling asleep and staying asleep. Other warning signs, this time much more physical kind of symptoms may be muscle tension, stomach problems, sweating or difficulty breathing may also be present. All these causes of anxieties disorders are present in the Anxiety Syndrome diagnose, and may be due to normal interactive effects, but also to abnormal or pathological personal property interactions with our feelings and thoughts.

All these causes of anxieties disorders are present in the Anxiety Syndrome diagnose, and may be due to normal interactive effects, but also to abnormal or pathological personal property interactions with our feelings and thoughts.
As we said, these normal or pathological
interactions may be developing when we feel or think daily in our ordinary
life, and this is because we own a mind and a body, and whenever we undergo
actively our psychic impulses and mental inclinations, we are generating some
anxiety because it is also a work force, a psycho-emotional compelling drudgery.
If we understand that our affections generate anxieties, and therefore, they
promote anxieties, such as being unwilling to see ourselves (denial) in a sentimental
crisis, a cognitive distortion, etc. these will just endure anxiety legitimizing
processes. We also find physical sources prop up anxieties, such as hunger or
thirst, desire to sleep and not being able to, boredom or tediousness etc. In
short, feeling already predisposes us to generate a plenty amount of anxiety.
Similarly, if we think about
anxiety from the pathological point of view, we will find discharges concerning
this emotion that roll up from the subject person and his own ideosincracia, as for example, in personality type
of disorders.
Now, at this point, and looking at feelings within
relational levels (whether these are due to normal or pathological affects), it
may occur a psychosocial churn out anxiety
that will push us away, such is the case when we feel the danger of loss of a
be loving someone, the lost of supportiveness, fear of abandonment, punishment or
by feeling fear. Additionally it will generate anxiety trends because of our
aggressive impulses or our sexual desires towards a person, in a separate or combined
way, for example when we love or hate someone at the same time or at one time
at the time.
A standard and useful
psychotherapy is a treatment that could help you understand the relationship
between your thoughts and feelings, or your behaviors and your symptoms.
During therapy,
you could learn to:
·
Understand
and control distorted belief and attitude about life, such as the understanding
other people's behavior.
·
Recognize
and reinstate thoughts that cause panic to help you feel more in control
(sexual dysfunction).
·
Manage stress and reduce tensions when
symptoms occur, such us: Paces, sways, shuffles, knees tremble, arms rigid,
hand tremors, no aye contact, face muscle tense, face dead pan, face pale,
moistens lips, clears throat, perspires, voice quivers, speech blocks or
stammers (…hem and haw…) etc.
·
Avoid
thinking that small problems will turn into terrible problems.
·
Therapist
establishing rapport and working alliance with individuals which makes
treatment for: Post traumatic stress disorder, panic and phobic disorders,
obsessive-compulsive disorder…
I could also point out some practical advice for
the daily day by day, since I believe that the “assembly " of anxiety is
natural in all of us and is part of our fortitude in life since we are born.
Since it is also ok to take these facts into the account, sideways we will pay
attention to other preventive measures, besides of medication intake or attending
therapy, such as:
• Reducing caffeine
• Avoiding illicit drugs
• Doing exercise, getting enough rest, and eating
healthy foods
In children, the symptoms of anxiety are much the
same as those of fear, because is an expression of fear disproportioned to an
external danger, like we could read in “The
diary of Anne Frank”, but we also believe that anxiety is a subjective
state of apprehension, as we have said, accompanied by physiological arousal. Although,
looking at the particularly type of child rearing has an anxiety effect on
children. For example, authoritarian and nonconformist parents both are likely
to induce intense anxiety on their children by several parents’ techniques
including punishment, reinforcement and modeling.
A person's prognosis depends on the severity of the disorder on the biological, behavioral and relationship bases. In some cases, and in a clinical sense, anxiety disorders are a chronic and a difficult illness to treat, but despite intense fears, self doubts and crippling symptoms, most patients improved with medication and / or psychotherapy. In addition, it is possible that this disorder cause more difficulties if it comes with a depression (clinical depression), if it bring into play drug abuse (drug addiction) or are very disorganizing anxiety-based disorders because of a psychotic disarray.
